This full-day adventurous trek will reward you with singing birds, lush vegetation and the tranquil Lagoa do Vento lagoon.

Spend the day walking in paradise, as you follow this 10 kilometers (6.25 miles) trail into the heart of Madeira. You will be provided with a fully qualified, local and knowledgeable mountain guide, who will lead you and your small group along the Levada do Alecrim to the Lagoa do Vento path where you will descend down through the dense trees as singing birds and the scent of the forest envelope you. Your group is kept to a very small number of participants as to allow for a very personal experience with your guide.

Arrive at the Lagoa do Vento lagoon, situated at the top of the Risco waterfall and take a few minutes to stand and soak in the magic and tranquility of your surroundings. Throughout the walk you will enjoy panoramic views at several stops along the way.

Special Instructions
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and sensible, flat-soled walking shoes (no flip-flops, or sandals) or hiking boots. Hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are suggested. You should bring a bottle of water, granola bar and light snack and a light weight, waterproof jacket. The weather can change quickly.
 
Restrictions
Guests must be able to walk a roughly 6.25 miles (10 kms) over 4 hours with varying terrain with inclines and steps. Due to the quick pace, this tour is not suitable for any mobility restricted traveler including guests who need to sit and rest periodically. Parents with small children should take the terrain into consideration and use a baby carrier instead of a stroller since the paths are not all accessible to baby carriages. This tour is not wheelchair accessible.
